I have come across very different and different moods when it comes to buying a new car. When I first passed my driving test years ago, I was looking for power, speed and the sleek body of a car that would appeal to the opposite sex. What I ended up with was a beat up old Ford Fiesta with 70,000 miles on the clock, but the intent was there.
However, when you have a family with children, your whole opinion of what makes a good car completely changes and you gain a whole new perception of what you want in your next vehicle. While you may have looked for power and speed in the brashness of your youth, with a family there is only one thing you look for and that is safety.
Any current or future parent wants to ensure that their children are as safe as possible when traveling by car, so this becomes the main concern. When he mentions safety, one automaker in particular immediately plays on his lips like a secret spell and that’s Volvo.
Volvo has built an incredible reputation for safety in recent years, and has gone to great lengths to ensure that all of its models achieve the highest NCAP rating imaginable. With this type of security comes a fairly high price. However, it is possible to find a used Volvo model that retains all the safety features you may need, but is more reasonably priced.
