1. Be transparent
Even if you don’t want people to know who you are today, they will find out if you’re successful enough. Therefore, look to build a brand that represents your true values that you would be proud to represent. That way, when things are found out about you, no one is surprised because they already know, like, and trust you.
2. Market to one’s audience
Remember that you know exactly who you want to be in your audience and will design all of your marketing materials to appeal to just that audience of one. This means that you are blindfolded and not worried if you turn off some people who might not buy your product, but instead are looking to attract a specific target audience within the niche.
3. Send information regularly to list members
One way to make sure you stay connected with your audience is to make sure you email list members on a regular basis. One way to do this is to follow the “newsletter” idea, sending out a nice update each week of what you’ve shared across all your social networks and your blog to them in one place.
4. Pay for Ads (Especially on Facebook, Instagram and YouTube)
The days of free marketing are almost over. You can market free content, but it will take much longer. If you want things to move faster, spend some money on marketing, at least on these platforms. Market your paid and free content to your audience to ensure the majority of eyes are on the content.
5. Post lengthy content on your blog
Today, longer content on your blog is more important than ever. When you post long content, you show that you are an expert because you can go into detail about something that matters to your audience. It also tells search engines that you may be an authority website.
6. Have a mobile-friendly website
You really need a mobile-first strategy today, more than you need a “mobile-friendly” website. Your site should work on and off mobile devices, but if you design for mobile first, it will work well and look good outside of mobile platforms as well.
7. Use the social networks that your audience likes the most
While you may want to be everywhere, use the platform that your audience uses more than the others. You may need to test it to find out where you get the most traction, but once you know where they are, make it your primary platform.
8. Attend live events
This applies whether the live event is online, such as a live webinar or YouTube live event, or an in-person event such as a seminar or workshop. It is important that you go where your audience goes.
