Today I had a sudden impulse and it came as a pleasant surprise. I was so inspired by the action of cleaning and “redoing” my entire room that I changed all the furniture in my room. I even moved my huge night stand by the bar which was very heavy by the way! My bed is now facing in a completely different direction. I kept muttering “joy spark” like a mantra to keep going, because it was so sweaty and dusty and I really wanted to give up. I needed to motivate myself to finish what I had started, because my room looked like it had been hit by a tornado when I was in the middle of it, which is always the “hardest and messiest” part, like any journey or process in life.
Right now, as I write this, I am enjoying the “magic” of a clean, organized and creative room. The “fruits” of my labor, as I would like to call it. I can come home and fall asleep, once my head hits the pillow, or even enjoy some downtime with a good book or podcast. What’s more appropriate than doing real labor work on Labor Day? My bedroom now feels like a piece of heaven on earth, the feeling of dusting hidden under places you didn’t even know could have dust is so rewarding. This is one of my favorite quotes for you today to release any negative waste inside your head. Our brain requires ordering every day.
“You have to do a thorough general cleaning before you start moving in your new furniture and then decide how you’d like to arrange it, right? Decluttering your head is exactly the same process.”
