Hey musicians, get your music out there! First of all, I went through all the songs in my radio stations database, putting the song names and musician names in the files. Not only that, I put them in ID3v1 and ID3v2 tags.
The most basic and useful setup is to go to your file, right click and click rename. If you have track1.mp3, no one will know who it’s for, even if they downloaded it from you. Instead of using that, rename it YOUR NAME – YOUR SONG TITLE.mp3, so it looks like this: Random Band Name – Random Song Title.mp3 Spaces aren’t much of a problem for computers anymore , so use them, if you don’t. don’t use this :_
Now after you do that you need to go into your tag files, these tag files are the ones that display the title, album, artist name, etc., all in MP3 player, Windows Player, Real Player, iTunes, Windowsamp, etc. They all work the same, so let’s start using these tags.
It’s very simple, once in your music player, right click on the file, click view file info, or if it says ID3v1 or ID3v2 tag, click that. It will give you a forum to enter all your information, usually if it’s a good music player it will give you both tags. Basically, they are the same thing and one is an update of the other. Please put all your information in that forum and save it. That’s all!
NOTE*
These tags are only available on mp3 files; however wav, wma and other files have the same idea, just different tag names.
I hope this helps!
