Deregulation is here again and it is slowly taking over the energy market. Is it going to be of any interest to an internet marketer or someone looking to start a home business? If you’re not interested, you may be the only person who wanted to take the advice or get the idea to invest in Google or Microsoft when they weren’t household words.
If you had absolutely no knowledge of the energy industry, you would have concerns and many questions. Having worked in this industry, I can explain why new energy providers will have a huge impact in changing the face of monopolies.
Power travels the same power lines for everyone, no matter which company you choose to provide your power. Before deregulation, you may have received power from other companies when your company’s generators failed or were shut down for maintenance. It just works this way. I have “programmed” the power for most emergency situations and these “emergencies” happen 24/7. It was sending electricity from generators in Florida and transporting it through generators all the way to Nebraska! This is how it works and it happens all the time.
So how does a competitive business and energy deregulation make this an amazing time for merchants and entrepreneurs? Because these companies are selling a product that absolutely everyone uses and needs. Once people begin to understand that changing their energy provider is not going to change anything else, they will feel more comfortable making the switch. The consumer will benefit from having lower energy bills.
As an entrepreneur, you are entering the beginning of a business trend that can only be compared to the deregulation of the telecommunications industry. Are you still with ATT?
Texas and New York are the only states that are officially deregulated at this time. Rates for Texas customers have been lowered from the start because there has been a great response. New Yorkers are learning more and will get more used to it as they see their neighbors change.
The Internet is giving entrepreneurs the opportunity to take advantage of this situation because you can sell people across our great country a product that everyone needs.
