A cold sore is the herpes virus and can be stimulated by getting sick from a poor immune system, ultraviolet sunlight, or contagion from another person. It can be frustrating as it often seems to show up just before something important, like a job interview, a new appointment, or a job presentation. This makes sense in a way, as stress can be a factor and these are situations that can lead to anxiety. Try to rest before a big event is approaching so that your
the immune system is strong. Sometimes dental work can stimulate a cold sore and I take lysine before I go, as well as a multivitamin now.
First, learn to become sensitized to the initial tickle so that you can work on it right away. It feels like a stinging sensation and if you have had some, you may notice it. This is before you see a rash or a small bump on your body or lip.

Alcohol can be used to help dry it. Some people use hydrogen peroxide, but remember to wash it off. Tea tree oil is good, but remember that essential oils need to be diluted in a carrier like olive oil.
You can find on the web the attempts of different people to reduce the time of a cold sore, but I suggest that you read them with caution and seek medical agreement on these suggestions. For example, one site suggests using a sterile needle, nail polish remover, etc. I don’t suggest pricking your skin or using questionable ingredients. I also read about applying antiperspirants to cold sores. It is not designed for this purpose and since many cold sores appear on the lip, this can be ingested so it is not recommended. I’ve also seen people suggest nyquil and toothpaste. There are natural systems that work and are systematic and worth following. One plan is better than taking multiple foods and ingredients without a well-tested and organized system.
