The Texas Golf Coast area is for the sun worshiper in you. You’ll find white sand dunes, sea turtles, a few coyotes, rodents, and fun in the sun. Mustang State Park will give you a prime example of dunes that can reach heights of thirty-five feet. There are armadillos here, wild mustangs that were brought from Spain, and Native Americans once inhabited this refuge island. You can paddle around the island through the fish pass into Corpus Christi Bay and then back through Wilson Cut. It’s a long drive, well worth the effort to see the birds, the wildlife, and perhaps catch a glimpse of the 600 species of fish that inhabit the water.
Padre Island is another island haven that is very popular with the locals. Parts of the island are a national park. The national park offers miles of sandy coastline to relax and enjoy the sun and watch birds and sea turtles. Birds found in the area include Sandhill Cranes, Hawks, a wide variety of Ducks, Spoonbills, Ibis, Hawks and Storks to name a few. If you go there and want to stay at the campsite or at a nearby hotel, I recommend you make a reservation.

Austin is where the night life is vibrant with country music, many famous music stars started here, maybe you can discover what has not been discovered.
This is where you’ll find the rolling hills, eight wineries, and western history. The cities in this area are small Texas towns. Bring your appetite, the food is a foodie’s delight. The town of Lukenbach will bring the old west to life with friendly 1800’s buildings and locals playing country music at the general store.
